A Standard! Hamaguri Clam Sake Simmer

Go ahead! Fill yourself up with this The clams are also seasoned as well.

Ingredients: 2 servings

Hamaguri clams
I used 14
1/2 cup
Sliced leek (as desired)
to taste
Soy sauce
1/2 tablespoon (please adjust ☆)

1. Wash the clams by rubbing the shells together. Be sure to remove de-grit.
2. Place in a strainer and use a paper towel, etc. to get rid of any moisture. If the clams are still wet, it'll spit once you add to the pan, so be careful.
3. Warm an oiled frying pan on high heat, then add the clams and the sake. Quickly cover with a lid and reduce to low-medium heat.
4. Once the clams have opened, remove the lid and pour in the soy sauce. Make sure the clams are taking in the sake and soy sauce.

Story Behind this Recipe

I really like clam sake simmers, but I though that for the same tender flavor hamaguri clams would go best with the sake simmer.
