Only Two Ingredients! Sukiyaki-style Chopped Beef and Onions

You can make inexpensive imported beef very tasty, and in only 10 minutes no less! An easy sukiyaki style dish that's also easy on your wallet.

Ingredients: 2 servings

Thinly sliced and roughly chopped beef (imported is OK)
250 g
Onion
1/2
Sugar
2 tablespoons
Mirin
1 tablespoon
Soy sauce
2 1/2 tablespoons
Vegetable oil (or use beef fat if you have some)
1 to 2 tablespoons

Steps

1. Cut the onion in half lengthwise and slice (as you would onions for a beef bowl).
2. Heat some oil in a frying pan, add the beef straight out of the pack plus the sliced onion from Step 1. Stir fry until the meat changes color.
3. When the meat has changed color, add the sugar → mirin → soy sauce in that order. Mix until the flavors are evenly distributed (with the heat on).
4. Simmer until everything is cooked through and the sauce has reduced to your liking.
