Easy Chinese Cabbage Salad

A crispy Chinese cabbage salad. It's easy and filling, so it's great when you want one more dish in a hurry.

Ingredients: 3 servings

Chinese cabbage
4 leaves
Sesame oil
1 tablespoon
Soy sauce
1 tablespoon
Sesame seeds
to taste (a generous amount)
Bonito flakes
to taste (a generous amount)


1. Julienne the cabbage, including the core part.
2. Put the shredded cabbage in a bowl, add the sesame oil and mix. Be sure to mix very well. This prevents the salad from getting watery. This is the key step.
3. Add the soy sauce and mix again.
4. Add plenty of ground sesame seeds and bonito flakes, and mix in.
5. Transfer to serving plates and top with a generous amount of bonito flakes and whole sesame seeds.

Whenever I serve this as the salad in a meal, my family eats a lot of it. It's very easy and quick, so I make it quite often.
