Peel the turnips, and cut into wedges. Cut the chikuwa, abura-age, and hanpen into bite-sized pieces.
Combine the water and ingredients marked ● in a pot and bring to a boil. Once it reaches a boil, simmer over medium heat for 10 minutes until done.

I wanted to try a recipe for quick side dish.
Add any ingredients you like! If using daikon radish, boil with a little water from rinsing rice or add a few grains of rice to the water. This will cut the smell of the daikon radish. Add carrots for color.
