Stewed Pork and King Oyster Mushrooms with Balsamic Vinegar

Stewed Pork and King Oyster Mushrooms with Balsamic Vinegar

I seasoned this meat dish with balsamic vinegar to make it go along with wine. A good recipe for dinner parties.

Ingredients: 2 servings

Thinly sliced pork
150 g
1/2 (small, about 80 g)
King oyster mushrooms
Garlic, chopped
1/2 clove
Red chilli pepper (sliced)
White wine
1 tablespoon(for marinating) and 1 tablespoon
☆ Balsamic vinegar
1 tablespoon
☆ Water
100 ml
★ Soy sauce
1 tablespoon
★ Sugar
1 tablespoon
Olive oil
1 teaspoon and 1 teaspoon
Salt, pepper
To taste

1. Cut the pork into bite sized pieces and sprinkle with salt, pepper and 1 tablespoon of white wine. Chop the onion and quarter the king oyster mushrooms horizontally.
2. Heat 1 teaspoon of olive oil in a frying pan and fry the pork. When the colour has changed, take out the pork.
3. Clean the frying pan and add 1 teaspoon of olive oil, garlic and red chilli. Heat the pan and add the onion to fry until softened.
4. Add 1 tablespoon of white wine and the ☆ ingredients into 3 and bring to a simmer. Put a lid on and simmer over a low heat for 5minutes. Add the ★ ingredients and king oyster mushrooms and mix well.
5. Reduce the sauce by about 1/4 over medium heat. Season with pepper. Taste and add some more salt if necessary.

Story Behind this Recipe

I had this dish somewhere before and wanted to recreate the dish in my own way.
