I Cooked Some Herring Roe...And It Turned Out Yummy

I fried some kazunoko (herring roe) with butter, and it tasted like cooked tarako (cod or pollack roe)!

Ingredients: 2 servings

Kazunoko (salt cured herring roe)
3 - 4
Bonito flakes
2 tablespoons
Butter
1/2 tablespoon
Mentsuyu
1 tablespoon

Steps

1. Cut the herring roe into bite-sized pieces.
2. Heat the butter in the frying pan and cook the herring roe.
3. When the roe have turned white and are slightly browned, add the bonito flakes and mentsuyu.

Story Behind this Recipe

I had some herring roe left over from New Year's so I cooked them with butter and they turned out really good! So I decided to post it here.
