Easy Apple Pies with Frozen Puff Pastry

These are easy apple pies made with frozen puff pastry They go well with the apple and syrup filling. They're nice and crispy.

Ingredients: 6 pies (about 6 x 10 cm)

Frozen puff pastry
4 sheets (10 x 19 cm)
Salted water
As needed
●Granulated sugar
2 tablespoons
●Lemon juice
From half a lemon
150 ml
Cinnamon powder
A small amount
Maple syrup
3 tablespoons
Egg yolk (1) + water (1 tablespoon)


1. Cut the apple into 8 even pieces, then chop into small pieces. Soak in salted water, and transfer to a pot with the ● ingredients. Simmer for about 15 minutes over medium heat.
2. When the water has evaporated, turn down the heat to low. Add the cinnamon power and maple syrup, and simmer some more. When the mixture has cooled, the filling is ready.
3. Bring the frozen puff pastry to room temperature, and cut each sheet into 3 portions. Make cuts on 6 sheets, which will be used to cover the filling.
4. Spoon the filling on the sheets without the cuts, and cover with a sheet with cuts. Press down the edges with a fork.
5. Line a baking tray with parchment paper. Brush the glaze on the pies, and bake in the oven preheated to 210℃ for about 10 minutes.
6. When the surface starts to brown, turn down the temperature to 170℃, bake for another 15 minutes, then they're done.
