Easy and Flavorful Japanese Soup Stock (Dashi)

Use it for a clear soup or dipping sauce for noodles.
You can make it easily.

Ingredients: 2 liters

1 sheet (10 x 10cm)
Bonito flakes
two handfuls
10 cups


1. Put konbu in water and heat it up.
2. Remove konbu before the water comes to a boil.
3. Put bonito flakes into the warm water.
4. Bring to a boil and skim off the scum that rises to the surface.
5. Strain through a cheesecloth or similar placed on a colander and it's done.
