Easy Medicinal-Style Hot Pot

Adding black bean garlic sauce makes it taste like traditional medicinal cuisine!
It really warms you up, so it's perfect to have on a cold winter day.

Ingredients: 2 servings

Ginger
1 piece
Garlic
1 clove
Green onion or scallion
20 cm
Pure sesame oil
1 tablespoon
1) Black bean garlic sauce
2 tablespoons
1) Doubanjiang
1 tablespoon (adjust the amount to change the level of spiciness)
1) Weipa or chicken stock
1 teaspoon
2) Sake
1 tablespoon
2) Soy sauce
1 tablespoon
2) Water
600 ml
Sugar
a pinch
Salt
a pinch
Any ingredients you want to add
as needed

Steps

1. Finely chop the ginger and garlic. Cut the green onion into fine pieces. Add sesame oil to a heated earthenware pot and stir fry the ginger, garlic, and green onions.
2. When fragrant, add the 1) ingredients and stir fry again. Then add the 2) ingredients and bring to a simmer.
3. Add sugar and salt. Taste to check the flavor. Add any other ingredients you want to have in the hot pot, and boil.
