Chicken Rolls with Plenty of Ginger

Chicken Rolls with Plenty of Ginger

Enjoy the spiciness of ginger.
Thanks to the ginger, even chicken breast meat, which tends to dry out easily, will get plump and juicy!
How about adding it to your lunchbox?

Chicken breast
Ginger (julienne)
25 g
Basil (or shiso if you prefer)
as needed
Soy sauce
1 1/2 tablespoons
Sake and mirin
1 tablespoon each

1. Slice the chicken open lengthways, and butterfly, making sure both sides are an equal thickness.
2. Marinate the chicken for 20 minutes. Simmer the remaining marinade in a pan to use as sauce later.
3. Pat away any excess liquid and lay the chicken out on top of some cling film. Sprinkle over the ginger and basil and roll the chicken up in the cling film.
4. Heat in the microwave for 6 - 7 minutes. Once cooled, slice and serve.
