Easy Dan Dan Hot Pot with Plenty of Sesame Seeds

All you need to do is add the exact amount of dashi stock into a pot, add the ingredients and simmer. Done. It's very easy! When you are making this dish for kids, adjust the spiciness.

Ingredients: 4 servings

Mix of ground pork and beef

Bean sprouts

Bunapi mushrooms
1 pack
6 cups (1200 ml)
◎ Chinese soup stock
2 tablespoons
2 tablespoons
◎Soy sauce
2 tablespoons
◎Cooking sake
2 tablespoons
◎Ground sesame seeds
5 tablespoons
1 tablespoon
Chinese noodles
to your liking
Green onions or scallions
to your liking
Roasted sesame seeds
to your liking


1. Mince the garlic, ginger, and Japanese leek.
2. Add sesame oil, minced garlic, minced ginger in a cold frying pan. Turn on the heat to medium. When fragrant, add ground meat, and stir-fry.
3. When the ground meat is cooked through, add Japanese leek and doubanjiang, then continue stir-frying. Adjust the amount of the doubanjiang when you are preparing for kids.
4. Add all the ◎ seasonings into an earthenware pot, and turn on the heat. Adjust the amount of ra-yu spicy chili sesame oil for kids.
5. When Step 4 starts to boil, add the ingredients, cover with a lid, and simmer.
6. When cooked through, add Step 3 stir-fried ground meat to the pot.
7. Add Chinese noodles at the end and sprinkle roasted sesame seeds on top to your liking, then it's done.
8. Serve the soup in a bowl, and add plenty of chopped green onions and ground sesame seeds. It will taste delicious.
