Sesame and Soy Milk Hot Pot

This is a soy milk hot pot with pork and aburaage. Add a bit of sesame seed paste and miso to the soy milk to make a tasty broth.

Ingredients: 4 servings

Thinly sliced pork
200 g
Aburaage
1
Tofu
1/2 block
Chinese cabbage
2 leaves (200 g)
Daikon radish
4 cm
Carrot
4 cm
Shiitake mushrooms
4
Shimeji mushrooms
1 packet
Chinese chives
1/2 bunch
Japanese leeks
1/2
Soy milk
1000 ml
○ Sesame seed paste (tahini)
3 tablespoons
○ MIso
3 tablespoons or more
○ Sake
3 tablespoons
○ Mirin
2 tablespoons
○ Chicken soup stock (powder)
2 tablespoons
○ Grated garlic
1 teaspoon

Steps

1. Chop all the ingredients into small sizes so that they cook through easily.
2. Mix together the ○ ingredients.
3. Pour soy milk into the pot and heat over medium heat. Add the seasoning sauce from Step 2.
4. Add the vegetables, starting with those that take longer to cook.
5. Once they are almost cooked, add the Chinese chives and leeks. Cover with a lid and simmer for 2 to 3 minutes. Bon appetit!
