Your favorite powdered ingredients for dusting the marshmallows (See Hints)
Put the gelatin and water marked ☆ in a mug or container to soften the gelatin. Whip the egg white and sugar to make a hard meringue.
Microwave the mug at 900W for about 30-40 seconds until the gelatin dissolves completely. Add to the meringue and whip well.
Pour into a container and let it cool down to harden. Then it's done!
You can take the marshmallow out easily. Flip the container over, and cut the marshmallow into small squares. Dust with your favorite powder and serve.
I poured the mixture at Step 2 into heart shaped silicone molds, and froze them. You can freeze them just like in Recipe ID: 1569160.
This is another variation. I dropped the mixture from a spoon and topped with walnut, my favorite. Let them cool down until they set!
I piped the mixture like fresh cream, then let them cool to set.
Story Behind this Recipe
I think store-bought marshmallows are bit too sweet, so I wanted to make one that I like.
Dusting the marshmallows after cutting prevents the pieces from sticking. Dust with skim milk, cocoa, powdered green tea, matcha, roasted soy bean powder, ground sesame or any other powder you like to enjoy different variations of this homemade marshmallow!
