A Hamburger Chef Teaches You How to Pan-Fry Hamburgers

This is how to pan-fry tofu hamburger patties, with tips from a former hamburger chef! You need to flip them 3 times and cook each side 2 times! You can use this method for normal hamburger steaks as well.

Ingredients

"Direct From a Former Hamburger Chef: Tofu Hamburger Patties"
1 portion
Oil for pan-frying
1 tablespoon
Sake or wine
2 tablespoons
Water
50 ml (optional)

Steps

2. Please refer to "Direct From a Former Hamburger Chef: Tofu Hamburger Patties" (Recipe ID: 1577679). Toss the patties back and forth like playing catch to remove the air.
3. Here are the hamburger patties with shiso leaves (Recipe ID: 1986640)
4. Start frying them!! Heat oil in a frying pan, and pan-fry for 3 minutes over medium heat. Please make an indentation in the middle with your fingers! That helps them cook through faster!
5. Flip after 3 minutes! They should be nicely browned!
6. Cover with a lid and steam-fry for 3 minutes! Flip after 3 minutes, and fry for another 3 minutes over low heat. Flip again after 3 minutes!
7. Turn up the heat to high, and flambé with the sake!
8. Cover with the lid and steam-fry!
9. If you are worried whether they are cooked though or not, add water and steam-fry some more! And you're done! You'll be amazed how soft they are!!
