The outside is crispy and the inside is fluffy. Serve with jam or cream and have together with delicious black tea for a wonderful tea time.

Ingredients: makes 6 or 7

●Cake flour
200 g
●Baking powder
2 teaspoons
20 g
a pinch
Unsalted butter
50 g
90 cc
Egg yolk

1. Cut the cold butter into small cubes and set aside.
2. Sift and combine the ● ingredients into a bowl. Add the sugar and salt.
3. Add the butter, and use your hands to mix the butter and powdered ingredients until smooth.
4. It should be about this smooth.
5. Create a depression in the center and add the combined egg and milk. Use a rubber spatula to mix everything together.
6. Once mixed, cover it in wrap and let cool in the refrigerator for at least an hour. I made one with chocolate chips as well.
7. Spread it out to a thickness of 2 cm and use a round mold of about 5 to 6 cm to cut out the shapes.
8. Place on your baking pan and apply milk (not listed) to the top. Bake in the oven at 190℃ for about 20 to 25 minutes.
9. Finished baking.
10. And they're done. The plain type goes well with jam or cream.
11. This is a richer type. Recipe ID: 1720007

Story Behind this Recipe

The scones I had at a café were just too delicious that I became addicted. Since I like a simple taste that goes with jam and cream, I made these soft and fluffy with no sweetness.
