Deep-Fried Crab Sticks - An Easy Side Dish for Bentos

No other seasonings are needed for this and so it's very easy Coat in batter and deep-fry. They taste great even when cold. Enjoy packed in bentos.

Ingredients

Imitation crab sticks
as much as you like
※For the batter:
※White flour
according to the amount of crab sticks
※Flour + water
according to the amount of crab sticks
※ Panko
according to the amount of crab sticks
Frying oil
as needed

Steps

1. Coat the crab sticks with flour→ tempura flour (mix of flour and water) → panko. Deep-fry in a oil over high heat until brown.
2. Frying with a small amount of oil in a pan or a tamagoyaki pan is easier and quicker (fry both sides).
3. Enjoy them in bentos.

Story Behind this Recipe

My mom used to pack this dish in my bento. It's one of my favorite dishes since I was a kid.
They're delicious fresh but also taste great cold.
