Green Pepper & Ground Meat Rice Topping

Even kids who dislike bell peppers will ask for seconds!


Green bell peppers
6 (small)
Ground meat (mixed beef and pork)
100 g
Sugar, soy sauce, sake, mirin
2 tablespoons each
☆ Katakuriko
2 teaspoons
☆ Water
2 tablespoons


1. Cut the peppers in half lengthwise, remove the stem ends and seeds, and julienne finely.
2. Heat some oil in a frying pan and stir-fry the peppers.
3. When the peppers have wilted add the ground meat. When the meat changes color add all the seasoning ingredients except for the ones marked ☆.
4. When the pan is simmering lower the heat. Add the combined ☆ ingredients to thicken, stir and it's done!
5. This is delicious served as is, over over rice.
6. My kids like it finely chopped and spooned over rice.
