[Farmhouse Recipe] Chilled Tofu with Crispy Chirimenjako Fish

Fry the chirimenjako - salted and semi-dried tiny fish - in hot sesame oil until crispy and put on top of tofu for a delicious combination.

Ingredients: 2

Silken tofu
1 block
ChirimenJako - salted semi-dried tiny fish
10g
Green shiso leaves
3 leaves
Sesame oil
1 tablespoon
Soy sauce
Add to taste

Steps

1. Top the tofu with the crispy chirimen jako and finely julienned shiso leaves. Drizzle on some soy sauce to taste and serve.

Story Behind this Recipe

I use this crispy chirimenjako fried in sesame oil as a topping for rice too. It's great with rice but it's best with tofu.
