Yum Woon Sen Thai Glass Noodle Salad with Seafood

Glass Noodle Salad is a standard in Thai cuisine.
This is a simpler version of this Yum Woon Sen (Recipe ID: 734367) with fewer ingredients.

Ingredients: 2 servings

Cellophane noodles
Shelled shrimp
100 g
Red onion
Cherry tomatoes
A) Fish sauce
1.5 to 2 tablespoons
A) Green chili pepper vinegar (Recipe ID: 1524277)
1.5 tablespoons
A) Lemon juice
1 tablespoon
A: Sugar
1 teaspoon
Salt, Katakuriko (for seasoning the shrimp)
A small amount of each
as needed


1. Make a slit on the back of the shelled shrimp, coat in the seasonings, boil, then let cool. Cut the cucumber into half lengthwise, then thinly slice diagonally.
2. Remove the stems of the cherry tomatoes, and cut into 2-4 wedges. Thinly slice the red onion, soak in water for 5 minutes, then drain.
3. Combine the A) ingredients in a bowl. Boil the harusame in boiling water for 3 minutes, then combine with the A) ingredients. Let cool.
4. Combine Steps 1 and 2 in the bowl, mix well, and plate. Scatter chopped cilantro on top.

Story Behind this Recipe

I made green chili pepper vinegar, so I decided to make Yum Woon Sen.
