Simple Non-fried Chicken Nanban

Simple Non-fried Chicken Nanban

It's simple since you don't need to deep-fry, and it goes really well with the tartar and sweet and sour sauces.

Ingredients: 2 servings

Chicken (thigh or breast)
1 slice
Egg
1
Flour
2 tablespoons
Salt
a pinch
Sweet and sour sauce ingredients:
Soy sauce
3 tablespoons
Sugar
3 tablespoons
Vinegar
3 tablespoons
Tartar sauce ingredients:
Egg
1
Mayonnaise
4 tablespoons
Fresh parsley
1 bunch
Onion
1/4
Sugar
a pinch
Salt
a pinch

Steps

1. Dice the boiled egg, parsley, and onion, and combine the tartar sauce ingredients.
2. Finely dice the onion and parsley, and chop the boiled egg roughly to your liking. If you don't like the spiciness of the onion, soak in water and squeeze out the excess water first.
3. Cut the chicken into bite-size pieces and season with salt.
4. Mix the flour into the beaten egg and coat the chicken.
5. Fry the chicken in a frying pan, using a generous amount of oil.
6. When the chicken is cooked, wipe any excess oil from the pan, add the sweet and sour sauce, and gently simmer.
7. Transfer to a dish, Top with the tartar sauce, and it's complete.

Story Behind this Recipe

It was too much hassle to deep-fry it, so I made it without deep-frying.
