Simple and Quick Western-Style Boiled Potato Tumbles

Simple and Quick Western-Style Boiled Potato Tumbles

These are potato tumbles boiled in a buttery broth.
They are perfect for that extra touch in tomorrow's bento lunch box.

Ingredients: 2 servings

medium sized, 5 to 6 (350 g)
around 15 g (to taste)
Soy sauce
1 heaping tablespoon
1 tablespoon
1 tablespoon

1. Cut potatoes into large bite sized pieces and boil them in water with sake. Test with a skewer, and strain potatoes when skewer pierces all the way through.
2. Add butter and heat on medium flame. When the butter melts, add soy sauce and honey, and simmer.
3. Agitate the pan to coat the potatoes in soy sauce.
4. Serve when the liquid has completely simmered away.

Story Behind this Recipe

This is my aunt's recipe. Japanese-style potato tumbles are also tasty, but sometimes it's nice to add the butter for a different touch.
