Fruity Hot Sandwich

Fruity Hot Sandwich

I toasted some jam and fruit sandwiched between thin slices of bread. Some cinnamon sugar nicely rounds out the flavor.

Ingredients: 1 serving

Thinly sliced bread (sandwich slices)
2 slices
Jam of your choice
1 tablespoon
Fruits of your choice
1 tablespoon
Olive oil
as needed
Cinnamon sugar
as needed

1. This time, I am using whole grain bread. Cut off any crusts and cut up the fruit into 1cm chunks.
2. Top 2 slices of the bread with jam and fruit. On the left, I have apple sauce and raspberries. On the right, strawberry jam with bananas.
3. Cover the fruit and jam with the remaining slices of bread. Using a fork, press the slices closed together all along the edges of the sandwiches. Kids can help out with this step.
4. Brush some olive oil on the tops of the sandwiches and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
5. Toast in a oven. It tastes best when the entire surface is a toasty golden brown. Cut the sandwiches in half and enjoy.
