Coconut Milk French Toast

How about tropical flavored French toast for a leisurely breakfast?

Ingredients: 2 to 3 slices of bread worth

* Coconut milk
70 ml
* Milk (skimmed milk if possible)
50 ml
* Egg
* Sugar
1/2 tablespoon
Bread of your choice
2 to 3 slices
Finely grated coconut
1 tablespoon
Granulated sugar
1 tablespoon
Vegetable oil
To taste


1. Mix the * ingredients together to make the soaking liquid. Soak the bread in it.
2. Toast the finely grated coconut in an oven, and mix with the granulated sugar. You can also dry-roast it in a frying pan.
3. Heat oil in a frying pan, and pan-fry the soaked bread on both sides until golden brown.
4. Sprinkle on the coconut-sugar mixture and it's done.

Story Behind this Recipe

I used coconut milk to soak the bread for French toast and it was delicious. I topped it with finely grated coconut and sugar like a Filipino style dessert.
