Italian-Flavored Stir-Fried Celery and Chirimen Jako (Semi-dried tiny sardines)

A dish to increase your intake of fiber and calcium. It has a light Italian flavor.

Ingredients: 1 serving

Celery
1 small stalk
Chirimen jako (semi-dried salted tiny sardines)
about 2 tablespoons
Olive oil
1/2 tablespoon
Dried mixed herbs
a small amount
Salt
a small amount

Steps

1. Cut the celery diagonally into 1 cm-wide slices. Cut up some of the tender leaves closest to the stalk in the same way.
2. This is about 2 tablespoons of chirimen jako.
3. Heat the olive oil in a frying pan, and stir fry the chirimen jako over low heat until crispy. It tends to spit, so do this while shaking the pan.
4. Add the celery and stir-fry until the leaves are wilted. Add the mixed herbs and salt.
5. You can use any kind of mixed herbs you like.
6. This is delicious served on rice. This is 342 calories in total. 20 g of chirimen jako has 440 mg of calcium.
