Super Thrify! Yakiniku-Style Chicken and Komatsuna Stir-fry

Create a satisfying yakiniku (Japanese BBQ) flavored dish from cheap chicken breast! This makes quite a lot! It will stimulate your appetite.

Ingredients: 2 to 3 servings

Chicken breast thinly sliced on the diagonal
1 fillet
Komatsuna (cut into 5 cm lengths)
1 bunch
★ Soy sauce
2 tablespoons
★ Mirin
1 tablespoon
★ Sugar
1 teaspoon
★ Kombu based dashi stock
1 teaspoon
★ Minced garlic (from a tube)
5 cm (about 2 and 1/2 teaspoons)
★ Ground white sesame seeds
1 tablespoon
Sesame oil
to taste


1. Combine the ★ ingredients, then marinate the chicken for over 10 minutes (you can omit this step).
2. Heat the sesame oil in a frying pan, add the pieces of chicken to the pan one by one, and fry on both sides.
3. First add the komatsuna stalks, then the leaves, and finally the meat. Pour in the marinade (the ★ ingredients), sauté until the komatsuna is tender, then serve.
