You'll transform that inexpensive baguette from the supermarket! Serve them with pasta. It's super easy!

Ingredients: 1 baguette

Baguette (the cheap kind is fine!)
1 loaf
● Garlic (either minced or tubed paste)
1-2 cloves (to taste)
● Margarine or butter
roughly 20 g
● Olive oil (optional)
about 2 tablespoons
● Salt
a pinch (to taste)

1. Put the ● ingredients in a small heat-resistant dish, cover with plastic wrap, and microwave for about 30 seconds until melted.
2. Stir.
3. Cut the baguette into 4- to 5-cm thick slices. Preheat the oven (or oven) to 200℃.
4. Spread the garlic butter on each slice. The more the better.
5. Place the slices face up on a heat resistant platter, then bake for about 10 minutes at 200℃ (adjust the time and temperature to suit your oven).
6. They're done when they turn a light golden brown, and have crispy edges!

Story Behind this Recipe

When I did a homestay in England, these were often served with supper. Although in England, it was sold frozen, but since they don't sell it in Japan, I made my own version! Garlic lovers will find it irresistible.
