Farmer's House Recipe: Braised Potato and Chicken

The potatoes absorb the good taste of chicken really well. It goes well with rice, so have plenty of rice with this.

Ingredients: 2 to 3 servings

300 g
Chicken thigh
150 g
Frozen Green peas
About 2 tablespoons
Japanese dashi stock
Vegetable oil
1 tablespoon
Soy sauce
3 tablespoons
2 tablespoons
2 teaspoons


1. Peel the potatoes and remove the shoots. Cut into 6 to 8 pieces. Cut the chicken into bite sizes.
2. Heat the vegetable oil in a sauce pan and fry the chicken. When the colour of the chicken is changed, add the potatoes. Stir as to coat everything with oil.
3. Add the dashi stock and simmer over a low medium heat for 10 minutes. Add the【A】and simmer for another 5minutes.
4. Add the green peas in the end and cook for one minute. Once it is cooled down a bit, the flavour is more settled so it's better.

Story Behind this Recipe

When I boiled potatoes, I cooked chicken at the same time in the same pan. The potatoes absorbed the good flavour of chicken, so I just seasoned it to make it go well with rice.
