Chilled Marinated Salad with Tomato and Prosciutto

Chilled Marinated Salad with Tomato and Prosciutto

You don't need to use prosciutto, you can easily make this with tomatoes, onions, olive oil, and vinegar!! It makes a great guest dish in the summer.

Ingredients

Tomato
1
Onion
as needed
Prosciutto
as needed
★Olive oil
1 tablespoon
★Vinegar
1 tablespoon
Black pepper
to taste
Salt
a small amount
Basil or parsley (to taste)

Steps

1. Finely chop the onions and basil/parsley (optional).
2. Cut the tomato in half and then thinly slice it. The ham easily rolls up (you can slice or cut it as you like).
3. Put the onions from step 1 on top of the tomatoes, add the ingredients indicated with ★, and add a pinch of salt and pepper it's done! (Add salt to taste if not using raw ham).
4. Shown above is a version of sliced tomatoes with no ham. It tastes great even without it.

Story Behind this Recipe

I received a lot of tomatoes from relatives who are tomato farmers, so I thought of a simple recipe to use up the tomatoes. Onions go great with tomatoes, so I made this marinade.
