Very Japanese-style Milk Pudding

This is a jiggly milk pudding with kinako roasted soy flour and brown sugar syrup! Would you like to take a break and have a cup of tea?


400 ml
Gelatin powder
5 g
2 tablespoons
Honey or sugar
1 tablespoon
Kinako & brown sugar syrup
to your liking


1. Dissolve the gelatin powder in 2 tablespoons of warm water.
2. Add honey or sugar into the milk, and simmer over low heat. Please do not bring to a boil!
3. Add the dissolved gelatin from Step 1 to the pot, mix well, then transfer to a container. Let it cool, and refrigerate for 2 ~ 3 hours.
4. Scoop with a large spoon. Sprinkle kinako roasted soy flour and drizzle brown sugar syrup to your liking.

Story Behind this Recipe

The pudding, which came with the lunch menu at a udon noodle restaurant, was so delicious that I tried making it myself.
