Easy Samgyeopsal in a Frying Pan

Here is a standard Korean barbecue dish called samgyeopsal that's loved by all! You can enjoy so many vegetables with this! You can use either lettuce or red-leaf lettuce!

Ingredients: 2 servings

Salted pork (pork belly) Recipe ID: 1355458
300 g
Sangchu Korean lettuce
20 leaves
Sesame leaves or shiso leaves
20 leaves
Kimchi

Garlic

Japanese leek namul (Recipe ID: 1355320)

Gochujang

Steps

1. Prepare the salted pork with this other recipe! They should be about 1 cm thick. Recipe ID: 1355358.
2. Today's Ingredients!
3. Wash the Korean lettuce and pat dry very well before arranging on a plate.
4. Cut off the stems of the sesame/shiso leaves and arrange on the same plate as the lettuce. Today, I used shiso leaves.
5. Thinly slice the garlic!
6. Optionally add some gochujang.
7. Put the pork into the frying pan. You don't need oil! Don't touch until browned.
8. When the meat begins to release its juices, flip over!
9. Look! They should be this color!
10. Pan-fry them until nicely browned. You could also stir-fry the kimchi in the same pan.
11. After they have become brown and crisp, use a knife or kitchen scissors to cut it into bite-sized pieces and arrange on a plate.
12. I served my samgyeopsal with Japanese leek namul prepared with a different recipe. Recipe ID: 1355320.
13. The main part of it is done!! Now, let's wrap them up!!
14. First take the Korean lettuce.
15. Place the shiso/sesame leaf on top. If using sesame leaves, it's better to flip the leaf over so the back shows, apparently it can be quite bitter....
16. Top with kimchi.
17. Top with garlic.
18. Top with Japanese leek namul.
19. Top with pork.
20. Open your mouth wide and stuff it in!!
21. Honey flavored!! Straight from the chef! "Yuzu & Honey Flavored Samgyeopsal" Recipe ID: 1776825.
