Deep-fried Chicken Wing Karaage with My Secret Marinade

Deep-fried Chicken Wing Karaage with My Secret Marinade

Great with beer and rice. The key to this recipe is my secret marinade. You'll be able to eat platefuls of these wings.

Ingredients: 3 to 4 servings

Chicken wing mid-section
Salt and pepper
to taste
about 2 tablespoons
For the sauce:
2 tablespoons
Soy sauce
2 tablespoons
1 tablespoon
1 tablespoon
White sesame seeds
as needed for garnishing

1. Mix together all the sauce ingredients except for the sesame seeds. Microwave for about 30 seconds to melt the honey.
2. Salt and pepper the chicken wings and leave to sit for 10 minutes. Coat them with katakuriko and shake off the excess. Drop into 150°C oil.
3. Deep-fry the chicken wings in 150°C oil for 6 minutes at first. Turn up the heat to 190°C and deep-fry the chicken wings until crispy. Transfer the fried chicken wings straight into the marinade.
4. Add the sesame seeds and mix well.
5. For adults, sprinkle with plenty of black pepper.

Story Behind this Recipe

This is my way of deep-frying golden crispy chicken. The sauce is sweet and savoury. Sesame seeds add more good flavour to them.
