Fluffy Duffy Rice Ball for Bento

Fluffy Duffy Rice Ball for Bento

It's Tokyo DisneySea's mascot, Duffy! He's so fluffy and looks just like the real stuffed animal!

Nori seaweed

1. Add the soy sauce to the rice and mix until the color is even.
2. Wrap up about half of the rice in plastic wrap to form the head. Don't make it too thick. Make shallow dents where the eyes and mouth will go.
3. Make half-moon rice balls for the ears. Make a dent in the middle with your thumb.
4. They should look the same.
5. Use the remaining rice to make a small, Mickey Mouse-shaped rice ball. Check that the shape fits over the rice ball from Step 2.
6. Mix the bonito flakes with a bit of soy sauce and coat the rice ball from Step 2 with it.
7. Put Step 5 on top of Step 6, wrap in plastic wrap, and lightly press them together.
8. Coat Step 3 with the bonito flakes as well.
9. Put the head into the bento box.
10. Cut out 2 circles from the konbu to make the eyes.
11. Make the other facial features from the nori. Use a toothpick to apply a bit of mayonnaise to the eyes and it's done.
12. The eyes will look even more real if you put a circle of nori on top of the kombu. You could make it even easier by just using nori for everything.
13. I uploaded an easy version (Recipe ID: 2259859).
14. I made an abura-age version (Recipe ID: 1990555).
