Take the meat out of the fridge at least 30 minutes before cooking and pound it to tenderize.
Use your hands to re-shape the meat back into it's original thickness and season with salt and pepper.
In a pan that is hot enough to cause the beef fat to smoke, cook one side of the meat on a strong heat until browned.
Flip it over and cook the other side for 1 minute. Then flip over again and cook for another 1 minute to finish. Pour over your choice of sauce and serve.
I recommend this steak sauce, Recipe ID: 1455757.
By the way, this is the dinner that I made for my husband's birthday.
Story Behind this Recipe
My husband asked me to make him a steak for his birthday and I wanted to make something a bit more delicious than usual.
Take the meat out of the fridge at least 30 minutes before cooking. After the meat is tender, use your hands to shape the meat back to it's original thickness and season with salt and pepper. The trick is to use a pan heated to the point where smoke comes off the fat and cook the meat on a strong heat until brown. Flip it over and cook for another minute, than back over again and cook for a further minute.
