Wash 3 outer leaves of cabbage. Even if you rip them at this point it's ok since you'll be rolling them later.
Cover loosely with plastic wrap on a heatproof dish, and microwave for 1 and a half minutes at 600w. If you're cooking 2 leaves, do so for 1 minute.
Let the cabbage cool down. This is faster if you put them on a sieve.
Shave off some of the core part to make it thinner and easier to roll.
Spread out the cabbage leaves, and spread them with either the ○ combination (sesame oil + sesame seeds) or the ☆ combination (olive oil + black pepper).
Lay the cured ham slices on the cabbage leaves, and roll them up as tightly as you can, so that the cut edges will be nice and pretty.
Cut up the rolls and line them up on a serving plate. Drizzle some more ○ or ☆ on top to taste to finish.
Story Behind this Recipe
I love cabbage and cured ham. This is the type of recipe a drinker thinks up.
Wrap the cabbage as tightly as possible. This way the rolls will look very nice when cut. Two of my nutritionist friends tried these out, and they both liked the sesame oil version better to my surprise. Choose whichever version you like.
