Rolled Cabbage and Cured Ham

Rolled Cabbage and Cured Ham

Easy and elegant. You can make this in advance, so it's great for bentos or when you need one more item for a dinner party. It's a family favorite. This is delicious with spring cabbage too.

Ingredients: 2 servings

Cabbage leaves
3 leaves
Cured ham
6 slices
○ Sesame oil and sesame seeds
As needed of both
☆ Olive oil and black pepper
As needed of both

1. Wash 3 outer leaves of cabbage. Even if you rip them at this point it's ok since you'll be rolling them later.
2. Cover loosely with plastic wrap on a heatproof dish, and microwave for 1 and a half minutes at 600w. If you're cooking 2 leaves, do so for 1 minute.
3. Let the cabbage cool down. This is faster if you put them on a sieve.
4. Shave off some of the core part to make it thinner and easier to roll.
5. Spread out the cabbage leaves, and spread them with either the ○ combination (sesame oil + sesame seeds) or the ☆ combination (olive oil + black pepper).
6. Lay the cured ham slices on the cabbage leaves, and roll them up as tightly as you can, so that the cut edges will be nice and pretty.
7. Cut up the rolls and line them up on a serving plate. Drizzle some more ○ or ☆ on top to taste to finish.
