Lemon and Lime Pie

Lemon and Lime Pie

This is a sweet and refreshing frozen pie. You just take it out of the freezer and slice as-is, so it's like an ice cream pie. I had the taste of key lime pie in mind when I made this.

Ingredients: one 9 inch pie

Cookies (or graham crackers)
1 1/4 cup
4 tablespoons
Lemon juice
2 lemons' worth
Lime juice
2 limes' worth
Grated lemon peel
1 lemon's worth
Grated lime peel
1 lime's worth
Condensed milk
1 can (14 ounces = 396 g)
Sour cream
1/2 cup

1. Make the crust. Put the melted butter in a bowl and mix together with the crushed cookies. Press into the pie pan and bake in an oven preheated to 180°C for 8 minutes.
2. Make the filling. Combine the eggs, lemon and lime peels, and beat with a whisk.
3. Combine the condensed milk, lemon and lime juices, and the sour cream in a separate bowl and mix.
4. Mix Steps 2 and 3 together, then pour into the crust and bake in an oven preheated to 180°C for 10 minutes.
5. Let cool at room temperature for an hour, then chill in the freezer for at least 3 hours until hardened. Top with some whipped cream and enjoy.

Story Behind this Recipe

I love key lime pie, so I thought that if I added some lemon, it'd be even more tart!
