Meat Sauce Spaghetti

Meat Sauce Spaghetti

Wine and tomato seals the flavor in, and the butter and milk adds richness. A traditional Italian pasta.

Ingredients: Serves 8

Meat Sauce
Ground beef (or ground beef mix)
600g
Bacon (or Panchetta)
50g
Celery
1 stalk
Onion
1
Carrot
1
Garlic
2 cloves
Red wine
1 cup
Canned tomatoes (diced cut)
2 cans
Cubed bouillon (I use Knorr brand)
2
Basil
1 leaf (if dried, 1 teaspoon)
Salt
1.5 teaspoon (as desired)
Pepper
to taste
Butter
20g
Milk
1/2 cup
Spaghetti enough for the number of servings

Steps

1. Mince the bacon, celery, onion, carrot, and garlic.
2. Pour olive oil and the garlic in a deep pan and heat. Add vegetables and cook for 30 minutes over low heat to bring out their flavors.
3. Increase the heat and add the ground meat. It's more like grilling than cooking. Spread it out and don't mess with the meat much.
4. Add the red wine, and cook off the alcohol.
5. Add the canned tomatoes, cubed soup stock, and basil and boil for about an hour.
6. Season with salt, pepper, and butter to taste. Add milk as the finishing touch.
7. Top over boiled pasta and you're done.

Story Behind this Recipe

Before I would add ketchup and Worcestershire sauce as the finishing touch, but I wanted to make it more simply to enjoy the flavor of the ingredients.
