Remove the pastry from the freezer and bring to room temperature. Boil the egg, mince, and mix with the ingredients marked ☆. (Mince and soak the onion in advance.)
Roll the pastry out to 1.5 times the original size. Roll the top sheet slightly larger. Dice the bacon into 5 mm pieces. Preheat the oven to 200ºC.
Put small cuts on the top pastry sheet (About 5 cm).
Top the rolled pastry with the egg and onion mixture, and then pile up the bacon and cheese in the center.
Cover with the top pastry sheet. Twist and stick the other side down, and repeat. (Press it firmly with your fingers.)
Brush on the egg yolk. Bake for 17 minutes at 200ºC, then for 3 minutes at 180ºC.
It's done. Slice and enjoy!
Story Behind this Recipe
I had leftover frozen pastry, so I made this pie for dinner.
It's easier to make if you prepare the pastry on parchment paper and then place it on a baking tray as-is. This way, it won't stick. You don't have to make small cuts. Just covering and placing cuts here and there is fine. Adjust the temperature and times according to your oven.
