Try This Out! Easy Marinated Tuna

The ratio of soy sauce and mirin is 1:1. It's easy, but it transforms cheap maguro (lean tuna) into something delicious. Try topping it on a rice bowl.


Maguro (lean tuna, sashimi quality)
1 block
Soy sauce
50 ml
50 ml
Finely julienned leek (the white part only)
To taste
White sesame seeds
To taste


1. Cut the tuna into easy to eat pieces.
2. Put the soy sauce and mirin in a pan, bring to a boil, and let cool.
3. Put the tuna and the cooled liquid from Step 2 into a shallow container, and marinate in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to an hour. (If the tuna is not completely immersed, turn it over once.)
4. Serve with shredded white leak and sesame seeds on top to taste.
