Fluffy and Soft Beef Bowl

Fluffy and Soft Beef Bowl

This recipe was inspired by Kansai-style sukiyaki. Just simmer for 5 minutes for a deep flavor.

Ingredients: 3-4 servings

Thinly sliced beef
300 g
◆ Sugar ◆
2 tablespoons
※ Soy sauce
3 tablespoons
※ Sake
3 tablespoons
※ Mirin
3 tablespoons
◎ Dashi stock
1 cup

1. Slice the onion into 5mm wedges.
2. Heat a little vegetable oil in a pan, and fry the beef. When the meat is still red, add the ◆ sugar, mix, and cook for 30 seconds.
3. Add the onion and fry for about 30 seconds.
4. Add the ※ ingredients and mix into the meat and onions.
5. Add the dashi stock and simmer for about 5 minutes until it's done (skim off the surface scum). Stop the heat and let sit a little for the flavors to penetrate the meat.
6. If you wish, add beni shoga (red pickled ginger) or shichimi (7 season spice) on top.

Story Behind this Recipe

I love Kansai-style sukiyaki.
If you make beef bowls this way, they always turn out delicious.
