Okra Indian Style

I had this okra dish at my husband's friend's house. The couple is Indian and vegetarians. It's very spicy and delicious, so I modified it to my liking.

Ingredients: 4 servings

250 g
1 large
3-4 small
Vegetable oil
3 tablespoons
1 and 1/2 teaspoons
1/4 teaspoon
Cayenne pepper (chili powder)
1/4-1/2 teaspoon (adjust to your taste)


1. Cut all ingredients into 1 cm cubes.
2. Heat oil in a pot and fry the okra over medium heat. Fry until the stickiness of the okra is gone.
3. When okra has cooked, add the onion. Fry until transparent and soft. Finally, add the tomatoes and continue frying by evaporating the tomato juice.
4. Add salt, turmeric and cayenne pepper. Adjust the taste by adding salt and cayenne pepper.
