A Family Favorite: Japanese Flavored Spinach Fried Rice

The pink color of the bacon and the green of the spinach is pretty in this really easy Japanese flavored fried rice. Great for lunch at home, or in bentos!

Ingredients: 2 servings

Plain cooked rice
180 g
Bacon
About 5 slices
Spinach
1 bunch
● Dashi stock granules, soy sauce, sake
2 teaspoon each
Salt and pepper
A small amount
Sesame oil
As needed
(Also egg, onion, green onion, bonito flakes, etc.)

Steps

1. Combine the ● ingredients. Cut the bacon and spinach into 1 cm pieces.
2. When the frying pan is hot, add the ingredients in the following order and stir fry: Sesame oil → bacon → spinach → rice
3. Add the ● ingredients. Season with salt and pepper, and done!
4. I tried making it into tenshin-chahan (a fried rice dish topped with an omelette). Yummy!

Story Behind this Recipe

I make this often for my son, who loves spinach. The green is really pretty!
