Meltingly-Soft Simmered Cabbage and Wiener Sausages

Meltingly-Soft Simmered Cabbage and Wiener Sausages

Put the ingredients in a pot and just simmer for 15 minutes - it's an easy recipe. You can do that because you're using winter cabbage.

Ingredients: 1 serving

Cabbage
300 g (about 1/4 of a cabbage)
Wiener sausages
2
Pickled cucumber
1
Onion
1/4
Water
300 ml
Soup stock cube
1
Ginger
1/2 piece
Fresh parsley
To taste

Steps

1. Cut up the cabbage and onion into wedges. Cut the pickle into easy-to-eat pieces. Finely chop the ginger.
2. Put the ginger, soup stock cube and water in a pot and start heating.
3. When the pot comes to a boil, add the other ingredients. When it comes back to a boil, turn down the heat immediately to low, and cover with a lid.
4. Simmer for 15 minutes over low heat.
5. Transfer to a serving plate, and sprinkle with parsley.

Story Behind this Recipe

I was wondering about the difference between spring and winter cabbage, and made this dish. Winter cabbage has a stronger flavor, and it still has a nice texture after simmering!
