Apple Clafoutis: Simply Mix and Bake

Apple Clafoutis: Simply Mix and Bake

This tart is fluffy when it is hot out of the oven. When chilled, it's pleasantly chewy. It's an easy dessert to prep.

Ingredients: 18 cm round tart pan

1 (200 - 250 g peeled)
Caster sugar (or granulated sugar)
65 g
Unsalted or salted butter
50 g
White flour
50 g
120 ml
1 tablespoon

1. Bring the egg and butter to room temperature. Grease the cake pan with butter (not listed).
2. Mix the egg and sugar well until most of the sugar granules has dissolved.
3. Add the butter and mix well.
4. Sift in the flour and mix well.
5. Pour the milk in and mix.
6. Add rum and mix.
7. Peel the apple. Cut in half and remove the core and stem. Slice into 3-5 mm thick slices.
8. Pour half of the dough into the pan. Arrange the apple slices in a circle.
9. Pour the remaining dough into the pan.
10. Preheat the oven to 180℃, and bake for about 50 minutes. Poke a skewer into the cake, and if it comes out clean, the cake is done.
11. If serving chilled, sprinkle icing sugar on the cake. It looks beautiful.
