Pan-Fried Hanpen Sandwiches with Ham & Cheese

Pan-Fried Hanpen Sandwiches with Ham & Cheese

Make sandwiches and pan-fry them, that's all. This dish is easy but it's fluffy and melting, and makes me happy. Enjoy as a drinking appetizer or as a side dish.

Ingredients: 9 pieces

1 square
Sliced cheese
1 slice
1.5 sheet
Vegetable oil
as needed

1. Cut the hanpen into 9 squares. Make crosswise cuts in the middle. Stop about 8mm from the edge (don't cut all the way through).
2. Cut the cheese into 9. Cut one slice of the ham into 6 pieces, and make 3 more pieces with half a slice.
3. Stuff one each of the cheese and ham into the hanpen.
4. Pour a small amount of vegetable oil in a pan, and pan-fry Step 3 sandwiches over low heat. Flip, and continue pan-frying until browned. Be careful not to burn them!

Story Behind this Recipe

I forgot to put it in oden. Later on, I had cheese and ham on hand, so I made sandwiches.
