For Your Bento! Crispy Sautèed Potatoes

A simple recipe for times when you need one more item in your bento. Just leave it up to the mentsuyu (Japanese noodle dipping sauce) for flavoring.

Ingredients

Potato
1/2 large
Carrot
about 1/5
Vegetable oil
1 teaspoon
Mentsuyu (3x concentrate)
2 tablespoons
Bonito flakes
to taste
Aonori
to taste
Sesame seeds
to taste

Steps

1. Julienne the potatoes and carrots into slightly thick slices. The carrots should be slightly thinner as they take longer to cook.
2. Heat oil in a pan and sautè the potatoes and carrots.
3. When the potatoes become translucent and the vegetables have cooked through, add the mentsuyu, stir, then remove from heat.
4. Sprinkle on bonito flakes and aonori to taste, a few shakes of sesame seeds, and it's ready to serve.
5. It's good even without aonori.
