Flaky Aburaage Crackers

These perfectly mimic Nabisco's Ritz crackers!! Even if you are allergic to eggs, wheat or milk, you can make delicious party appetizers with these flaky abura-age crackers.

Ingredients

Aburaage (you can make 4 crackers from 1 aburaage Recipe ID: 1260464)
as many as you like
Salt
to taste
Toppings
☆ Soy milk cheese (Recipe ID: 1315967)
as needed
☆ Blueberry jam
as needed
☆ Soy milk whipped cream & fruits, etc.
as needed
☆ Ham, cherry tomatoes, sliced cheese, etc.
as needed

Steps

1. Boil the aburaage for a few minutes in boiling water and drain. When the aburaage has cooled, squeeze and drain the water and smooth out with your fingers to flatten.
2. Cut the abura-age into 6 cm round shapes, peel into 2 layers. If you can't do that, leave it as it is.
3. Place on the edge of a large heatproof plate and sprinkle with salt. (Refer to Recipe ID: 1260464). Microwave for 5-6 minutes uncovered.
4. After they have cooled down, add whatever toppings you like, and they're done!!

Story Behind this Recipe

My children are allergic to eggs and wheat. I came up with this as I wanted to make some cute and delicious party food without using eggs and wheat, so that I could serve it at Christmas parties etc.
