For Christmas! Somewhat Extravagant Fried Potatoes

These somewhat extravagant fried potatoes are fried in butter!
They're perfect as a side dish for Christmas.

Ingredients: 3 servings

500 g (3 large)
100 g
Dried parsley
to taste
Salt and pepper
a small amount


1. Wash the potatoes well and remove the eyes. Cut into 1.5 cm matchsticks.
2. Soak in water to remove the starchiness. Discard the water twice.
3. Get rid of the water, place the potatoes in flat sieve, and leave for 30 minutes to dry.
4. Meanwhile, prepare the frying oil. Slowly melt 100 g of butter in a frying pan on low heat.
5. Scoop off the scum-like bits that float to the surface and place into a small bowl. Save this as it will be used later.
6. Place the potatoes into the clear butter and fry for 10 minutes on low heat while occasionally turning them over.
7. When the potatoes have cooked through, raise the heat and fry until the surfaces become browned and crispy. Place into a paper towel-lined bowl.
8. Toss out the butter from the frying pan and add the butter from Step 5. Put in a little bit of dried parsley and mix in well.
9. Return the potatoes to the pan and coat with the butter. Season with salt and pepper as needed. To make the best of the buttery flavor, keep the seasoning simple and mild.
10. Dry off the excess oil with a paper towel. Arrange on a plate and they're done!
