[Farm House Recipe] Daikon and Chikuwa Sweet and Spicy Stir-Fry

This speedy dish will be done before you know it. The crunchy texture of the unpeeled daikon goes great with the sweet and spicy sauce and really boosts the appetite.

Ingredients: 2 servings

Daikon radish
200g
Chikuwa
2
White sesame seeds
1 tablespoon
Sesame oil
1/2 tablespoon
A
Soy sauce
1 tablespoon
Sugar
1 tablespoon
Sake
1 teaspoon
Red hot dried pepper
1/2 (seeds removed)

Steps

1. Cut the daikon without peeling. First, cut it into 5mm rounds, then again into 5mm sticks. Cut the chikuwa vertically in half. Then, cut diagonally into match sticks.
2. Heat the sesame oil in a pan over high heat, then add the daikon and stir-fry for about 2 minutes. Add the chikuwa and stir-fry for an additional minute.
3. Add the "A" ingredients and stir-fry for about 2 minutes. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and it's done. Remember to cook every step over high heat.
4. Daikon is great when it's a bit crispy.

Story Behind this Recipe

Since both daikon and chikuwa are great stir-fried, I decided to try mixing them together.
