A Little Spicy! Onion and Daikon Radish Curry Soup

This is a light and spicy soup. The key to the flavor of this easy soup are the "hidden ingredients," soy sauce and sugar. You can enjoy it in various ways - try it with your favorite vegetables!

Ingredients: 5 servings

Daikon radish
1 and 1/4
Wiener sausages
4 to 5
Curry powder
2 to 3 teaspoons
Soup stock cube
Soy sauce
2 teaspoons
2/3 teaspoon
a small amount
a small amount
1000 ml
Fresh parsley
to taste
Vegetable oil
as needed


1. Peel the daikon radish and cut into 3 cm x 1 cm rectangles.
2. Mince the onion.
3. Cut the wiener sausages into easy to eat pieces.
4. Heat vegetable oil in a pan and stir fry the onion and wiener sausages. When the onion is translucent, add salt and pepper.
5. Add water and the daikon radish, then add the curry powder and soup cube.
6. When the daikon radish is tender, add soy sauce and sugar, simmer for a bit and it's done! Serve in bowls with parsley sprinkled on top.

Story Behind this Recipe

I made curry soup, which I've been wanting to try for a while with lots of daikon radish.
(In the photo the daikon radish have sunk to the bottom... but there's a lot in there!)
I think it should be nice with daikon radish leaves or spinach too.
