Christmas Salmon and Avocado Salad

This is an easy salad using a circular mould that shows off the stacked layers. Works great with a square mould (square milk carton) too.

Ingredients: 2 circles (6 cm each)

Smoked salmon
60 g
Cottage Cheese
60 g
For the dressing:
Olive oil
1 tablespoon
Lemon juice
1 tablespoon
White wine vinegar
1 tablespoon
Yuzu pepper paste
To taste
Italian Parsley, Red peppercorns (for garnish)
As needed


1. Sprinkle a little dressing over the smoked salmon, and avocado cut into 7-8 mm cubes.
2. Place a circular mould on a plate. Layer the ingredients, in equal thirds to fill the mold. Repeat with the second mould.
3. Drizzle the remaining salad dressing and garnish with Italian parsley and the red peppercorns (to look like holly berries).

Story Behind this Recipe

I made this because I wanted a Christmas-colored salad using a circular mold. I thought the cottage cheese would look like snow.
